Artist bios. Keyboard virtuoso Derek Sherinian has made a name for himself in the world of progressive metal both as a sideman and a solo artist. A member of Dream Theater from 1994 to 1999, he appeared on the albums A Change of Seasons (1995), Falling into Infinity (1997), and Once in a LIVEtime, before departing in 1999.

For his upcoming effort, the ex-Dream Theater keyboardist has recruited Joe Bonamassa, Steve Lukather, Steve Stevens, Nuno Bettencourt and Zakk Wylde, as well as Mike Stern, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Michael Schenker.

If you like his previous album ‘The Phoenix’ from 2020 ‘Vortex’ will be without any doubt to your liking, although it is an effort to sit out this wild ride in one sitting.
