13 de oct. de 1998 · After hearing an old song of Silver Apples on the radio, Dan Taylor called the station and got in touch with his old partner again. When they met again they discovered a collection of tapes among the Silver Apples memorabilia. Seven complete songs recorded in 1969, plus seven instrumentals of Dan playing drums in 1968.

Legendary cult-band Silver Apples were an experimental duo of electronic keyboards and vocals that predated new wave and synth-pop by almost a decade. The music on Silver Apples (1968) and Contact (1969) ... The Garden (Whirlybird, 1998) collects unreleased tapes from 1968-69.
8 de sept. de 2020 · The unreleased 1970 third Silver Apples album was also released as The Garden in 1998. In late 1998 Danny Taylor was located, and a handful of reunion shows of the original lineup were performed. Not long into the reunion, Simeon was injured seriously after their tour van was forced off the road, and plans for new music and touring were put on hold.
With a third album, The Garden, recorded on spec and shelved in the wake of the Pan Am debacle (though it would eventually be released in 1998), Silver Apples petered out in 1970. Taylor took a job at a telephone company, while Simeon returned to his first love as a visual artist, funding himself by working as a graphic designer for an advertising agency.
