Eliot has also earned the distinction of being the only House to require that its members pay $65 in dues. This fee allows students admittance to Eliot’s storied formals, but thankfully those eligible can look to the Student Events Fund to offset the sum. These dues only add to Eliot’s reputation as the most exclusive non-club on campus.
Eliot House is rich in lore and legacy. If the House were in London, it would be covered in the blue plaques that mark distinguished residents and cultural significance. Finley’s legacy is similarly rich, and yet the story of his years at Eliot House — years of vital importance for the university and the country — has never been told.

The House’s art studio, complete with easels and other necessities of artistic endeavor, is located in the basement under A-entry. Provided that sufficient student interest is shown, informal classes will be arranged throughout the year.
