RFTT debuted June 16, 1974 at the Viking Saloon, a rock club downtown owned by Thomas' friend and housemate Dick Korn. The lineup was Thomas (vocals, bass), Zonneville (bass, vocals), Glenn "Thunderhand" Hach (guitar, vocals) and Tom "Foolery" Clements (drums).
