15 de feb. de 2024 · In 2018, Byrds co-founders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman teamed up with country star Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives for a 50th anniversary salute to the Byrds’ watershed 1968 album Sweetheart of the Rodeo, a work that helped usher in the whole genre of country-rock music.
Perhaps this best sums up the release, Sweetheart Of The Rodeo was the product of a new band searching for a direction whose members wouldn’t last six months together. It was a devoted detour into the depths of country music, which neither The Byrds’ existing fans nor country connoisseurs were willing to accompany them into.
