7 de ago. de 2023 · Downes Braide Association (DBA) announced the release of the second single and video “Keep On Moving” from their long-awaited new album Celestial Songs (released on 8th September). Following their previous critically acclaimed studio albums, Celestial Songs will be the fifth DBA studio collaboration for Geoff Downes (keyboards) and multi award-winning songwriter Chris Braide (vocals).
• Chris Braide is one of the greatest songwriters the UK has ever known, having worked with Sia, Hans Zimmer, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Paloma Faith, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue and Lana Del Rey. • Together, they form Downes Braide Association - a writing and recording partnership with a pedigree like no other.
13 de nov. de 2017 · Next it’s the turn of Marc Almond to alternate with Chris, and together the pair weave an intoxicatingly dark collage of sound. But best of all is the album’s namesake: 18 hypnotising minutes that see Braide sharing the mic with Kate Pierson of The B-52’s. The concept of such a collaboration is perhaps incongruous but, by golly, it works.
The Downes Braide Association represents the combined efforts of progressive rock icon Geoff Downes (the Buggles, Yes, Asia) and producer/songwriter Christopher Braide. Separated in age by two decades, the two Brits were first introduced by Downes' former Buggles colleague Trevor Horn, and struck up a friendship based on mutual admiration and a desire to mix pop and prog in a modern context.
