Tony Conrad, rodným jménem Anthony Schmaltz Conrad, (7. března 1940 – 9. dubna 2016) byl americký experimentální režisér, hudebník, hudební skladatel a herec. V šedesátých letech byl členem hudebních uskupení kolem minimalistického skladatele La Monte Younga , díky němuž se setkal s velšským hudebníkem Johnem Calem .

Conrad’s definition of those monochromes as never-ending “films” extended his critique of cinema to painting. In the 1980s Conrad persevered and undertook a stronger media critic. He made films and installations on power and authority, collaborating with Mike Kelley and Tony Oursler ( Beholden to Victory , 1983; Jail Jail , 1982–1983, Panopticon, 1988).
