Downe House School is an independent girls' boarding and day school in Cold Ash near Newbury, Berkshire, for girls aged 11–18. Entrance is selective, and the school has an enrolment of 559.
Disillusioned by the independent education that existed for girls at the time, our founder, Miss Olive Willis, held the strong belief that a school should meet the needs of young women by valuing and prizing individuals and engendering a strong sense of community.

Downe House Admissions. Our Downe House admissions process has been made as straightforward as possible for you and your daughter. Our Admissions team follows each application through from initial enquiry through to your daughter’s first day at School and are on hand to answer any of your questions.
