Dennis Cowan (*6 May 1947, + 3 June 1975) was a British musician. He played the electric bass and is noted as having contributed to records by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Vivian Stanshall and Neil Innes.
Dennis Cowan – bass (joined in mid 1968) Stanshall and Innes were the band's principal songwriters, with occasional contributions from Spear and Smith. Session/guest musicians. The band often used guest musicians on stage and in the recording studio.

Neil Innes formed The World with Dennis Cowan, Roger McKew and Ian Wallace. They made one album, Lucky Planet, but they split up before it was due to come out. Dennis went on to the biG GRunt and Ian to King Crimson. Neil and Vivian guested on The Scaffold's Do The Albert.
